Abstract:
AI is a technology that is transforming technologies. It is a wide-ranging tool that enables us to rethink how to integrate information, analyze data, and use the resulting insights to improve decision making in various areas. Engineering is also experiencing rapid transformation from revamping building blocks of engineering to engineering methodologies. Not only the AI provides tools for engineering innovation, but it also promotes novel researches via multi-disciplinary collaborations. Through this overview, the insights of AI from the engineering perspective will be shared to an audience with engineering backgrounds In addition, current AI driven researches at the Robotics Lab. in Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi will be emphasized. The main application areas include ANN based wearable healthcare devices for locomotor skills classification, AI based personality analysis for Robot-Machine Interaction, and ANN (artificial neural network) based real time cancer cell diagnosis technology (in collaboration with UNT). Some other automation technologies such as 3D sensing, AI based photography, and AI+RTK (DDPG) based smart agriculture will be also shared.
